DTA and DCS consultation hub

Here you can find all consultations on the Deposit Takers Act (DTA) and Depositor Compensation Scheme (DCS). We look forward to your input.

The Deposit Takers Act 2023 received Royal Assent on 6 July 2023. We are currently drafting regulations and standards to support the DTA and DCS. This is the secondary legislation or rules that deposit takers must follow.

Over the next few years, we will consult on various aspects of the legislation. We will ask the banking industry and the wider community for feedback. This will make sure the rules will work in practice. If you have any questions about our consultations, please email dta@rbnz.govt.nz.
